Medieval Japan: Religion
After christian missionaries got to Japan they wanted to share Jesus with the natives of Japan. In 1549 Francis Xavier (the Jesuit) came to Japan. He spent two years changing some Japanese into Christianity. Japan had offers of European trade. The thing is that the Europeans trading ships were forbidden to dock at ports that were controlled by daimyo. Some daimyo actually became christian's but only for trading purposes though.
